Boris Rebetez was born in 1970 in Lajoux / Switzerland. After studying at the Basel School of Fine Art from 1991 to 1994,
he moved to Brussels where he remained until 2008. After a residency at the Swiss Institute in Rome in 2009, he returned
to Basel, where he currently lives and works.

Rebetez’s interest lies in the various concepts of space, which becomes obvious when analyzing his eclectic work
containing drawings, collages, sculptures, installations, photography. Space therefore is not only addressed in terms of
spatial surrounding, but also as a theoretical and historical entity. Further, Boris Rebetez understands space as to be
experienced subjectively and to be created mentally.

Boris Rebetez has exhibited in several institutions such as Museum für Gegenwartkunst Basel, Kunsthalle Basel,
Graphische Sammlung der ETH, Zürich, Swiss Institute in Rom and New York, Aargauer Kunsthaus, Musée Rath Geneva,
Kunstmuseum Solothurn, Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten, Antwerpen, Etablissement d’en face, Brussels,
Casino Luxembourg, O.K. Centrum für Gegenwartskunst, Linz, Osage Art Foundation Hong Kong, a.o.
